About us

BeGreen has a long-term mindset. We take responsibility for both development, operation, ownership and management of our solar parks. This way, we ensure a consistently reliable production level.

Challenge

We are facing an extensive climate challenge. If Sweden is to be able to reach the goal of net zero emissions in 2045, the electrification of society is a crucial piece of the puzzle. Sweden is expected to double electricity consumption from today’s approximately 145 TWh to an estimated 290–300 TWh.

Solution

BeGreen wants to be part of the solution and produce more renewable and affordable energy – for a more sustainable future. BeGreen develops, builds and owns large-scale solar parks in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Poland. We do this with a strong focus on sustainability in all processes, in all projects – from cradle to grave.

Results

So far, BeGreen has built 9 solar energy plants with a total annual energy production of 650 GWh. This corresponds to the annual energy consumption of 200,000 people. In the same way, the parks contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 330,000 tonnes of CO2e per year.

Focus on the green transition

BeGreen has a 360-degree sustainability concept that puts our work with sustainability into a system.

It is based on an analysis of the company’s environmental and social impacts so we can prioritise our efforts.

We have set concrete sustainability targets and defined actions, focusing on environmental factors and human rights in our value chains, on being neighbourly, biodiversity, recyclability of our materials and documentation of climate impacts.

BeGreen Sweden

BeGreen's history

BeGreen has its background in Denmark’s largest forestry and agricultural company Bregentved estates. BeGreen’s first solar park was completed in Denmark in 2015 and since then a number of parks have been added.

We are currently active in Sweden, Poland, Germany and Denmark. In November 2022, BeGreen was aquired by Equinor, and today we are a fully owned subsidiary of the Norwegian energy major.

BeGreen is the first company to build solar PV parks and produce certified green energy without receiving any subsidies of any kind, while still delivering attractive electricity prices for consumers as well as a stable, high return for our owners. In addition, we offer landowners a long-term and stable source of income through our lease agreements.

Vision

BeGreen’s vision is to play a crucial role in the green transition.
